MetroRapid
MetroRapid buses don’t just bend in the middle, they make the entire riding experience more flexible. Launched in 2014, MetroRapid offers more comfort, convenience and frequency – coming so often you don’t even need a schedule! With 43 stations located along Route 801 and 34 stations along Route 803, MetroRapid can take you to any number of popular destinations along North Lamar and South Congress (801) or North Burnet and South Lamar (803). MetroBus
MetroBus offers the most extensive service across Capital Metro’s 535-square-mile service area, with nearly 350 vehicles serving 2,700 local stops and virtually 24-hour service on weekdays. Pick a route and get going!

Don’t have exact change? Your smartphone is your ticket with the CapMetro App. Simply pull up your pass prior to boarding, swipe and go!
MetroRail
MetroRail provides a convenient, stress-free commute for over 70,000 people every month. Catch the rail at one of nine stations between Leander and downtown Austin Monday through Friday and from Lakeline to downtown on Saturday.
If you’d like to drive your car and leave it at the station, use the Park & Ride lots at the Leander, Lakeline and Howard stations.
If you’d like to take your bike, you can hook your bike on the racks provided and have a seat, or if you prefer, stay with your bike in the standing room section.

CapMetro App
The CapMetro App makes choosing transit easier than ever. When you download the app, your smartphone becomes your ticket, which means you’ll never have to bring exact change again! Kids Ride Free
Kids 18 and younger ride free on all Cap Metro services:
- K-12 students, with valid ID
- 10 and younger must be accompanied by someone 12 or older
Reduced Fare Program
The following groups of Capital Metro riders qualify for a Reduced Fare ID Card:
- Seniors 65 and over.
- Medicare card holders.
- Riders with disabilities. (view eligibility guidelines)
- Students 6-18 who don’t have a school ID issued by their school can also apply for a Reduced Fare ID Card.
To order your Reduced Fare ID card, follow one of the following options:
- Pick up an application at the Capital Metro Transit Store, located at 209 West 9th Street in downtown Austin
- Call 512-389-7475 to request that an application be mailed to you.
